". . . our stories are what make the difference, and if we can tell them honestly we can hope to help each other. In the end, we have nothing to offer each other but our stories." ~ Emma Lou Thayne

Probably SHOULD have previewed Sixth Sense - FACES

WW#2: A movie you probably should have previewed before letting your kids watch.

"Happy" as a teen rented this WAY BACK WHEN and we just popped it in the VCR and watched... I mean, it wasn't rated R, so how BAD could it be. RIGHT?? WRONG... NOT for a child under 10!! (College boy PROBABLY wouldn't appreciate me TELLING this... LOL!) He had just turned 9 at the time. He was SO freaked out that he disappeared about 3/4 into the movie. THEN he had NIGHTMARES!! We rerented it and showed him the END so he could feel better about it, then he wanted to watch the whole thing with the end in mind and decided he liked it. Yeah... probably SHOULD have previewed THAT ONE!!! We got better about that... We just didn't THINK that day.

Don't get me wrong, I really liked the movie! And of COURSE we HAD to watch it AGAIN with the end in mind to see HOW we actually MISSED all of that!! WHAT a TWIST... but NOT! LOL! Even AFTER KNOWING the end, I wouldn't recommend this for smaller children. There are some pretty eerie scenes with visuals you really don't want running through their little minds in the night keeping them awake. We just HAD to have ours watch it again (but was 9, too...) because ALL he HAD seen was the scary stuff and we needed him to see how THIS story played out and wasn't ALL the bad it seemed. (Not sure if that made sense or not... but that was MY reasoning and it DID seem to help. Bruce Willis remains his favorite actor.)  ;p  *sigh*

haha - SO many movies we should have previewed first... Goonies, Sandlot... Monty Python and the Holy Grail (oh wait, we DID preview that one... but still let slip a few moments, yikes!)

I saw that in the theater and totally GRABBED the leg of the strange man sitting next to me. While swearing loudly. Several times. :) The picture is darling, by the way.

Thanks for following - I am already a follower. I totally agree with the whole thing about screening or just talking to other people about a movie before a kid safe movie, before you let your little ones watch it. You would have thought "Where The Wild THings Are" would be a kid safe movie, but absolutely not! WAY too intense! The imagery was pretty cool, but William won't be seeing it anytime soon!
