". . . our stories are what make the difference, and if we can tell them honestly we can hope to help each other. In the end, we have nothing to offer each other but our stories." ~ Emma Lou Thayne

Proud to Be An AMERICAN! Where's Honest ABE? We NEED HIM!

The following is a journal prompt from Life Lines Journaling Blog:

"Those who deny freedom to others
deserve it not for themselves."
~Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln was such a great man/leader/president!! Guess what??? Abraham Lincoln was also bipolar! (So was his wife.) This just proves my point that it is so misconceived! We CAN accomplish! We CAN ACHIEVE GREAT things!! "They call it bipolar; I call it multi-talented." In Lincoln's case, he dealt with it the old fashioned way. They didn't even have a name for it back then. But his path was never easy; yet he is considered one of the GREATEST presidents our nation has had. And to think how inexperienced he was going into office. If ONLY we could have the likes of ABE as our Commander and CHIEF NOW!! We would be in a MUCH better state of affairs. No DOUBT of it!

I am of the opinion that much of what is happening to undo our constitutional rights is treasonous! If those in leadership positions are not going to be examples of upholding the constitution and our laws; abiding by them, DEFENDING them... then they are traitors! They are NOT representing the PEOPLE and what is BEST for OUR COUNTRY! One World Order is NOT an option! WHAT did our forefathers give their lives for??? Read about the fate of those that SIGNED our DECLARATION of INDEPENDENCE! The event we celebrate TODAY!! Why are so many of the benefactors of their sacrifices so ready to sell the rest of us down the river? WAKE UP!! Pull your head out of the sand! STAND UP for this grand nation and be counted among those that REMEMBER WHAT WE WERE FOUNDED ON and be GRATEFUL for the sacrifices made in YOUR behalf! Keep this a wonderful place for your descendants... STAND UP and take the PLEDGE... (WITH GOD in tact!)

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

This is My Country

This is my country! Land of my birth!

This is my country! Grandest on earth!

I pledge thee my allegiance, America, the bold,

For this is my country to have and to hold.

This is my country! Land of my choice!
This is my country! Hear my proud voice!
I pledge thee my allegiance, America, the bold,
For this is my country to have and to hold.

Great free-flow off the writing prompt! I had no idea Abe Lincoln had bi-polar. I love your honesty!
