Sunday Expressions: Hold On - Prayer List Linky

Written by Michael McLean
Sung by Jessie Clark Funk

I'm starting something new! A prayer list of those that need the power of God to help them through a difficult time. Feel free to link up your list. I'll work on a button and we can make this a weekly thing as part of our Sunday posts. Just think of some of those individuals in need of prayers and post so all that read can say a little prayer. The power of prayer is an amazing thing!!
1)  I've mentioned Bug and his mom (my friend) Annette on here a few times... Bug needs prayers on his behalf now!! Here are the notes on FB:
Spent the night at Primary Children's after an ER trip with Bug. He collapsed while conscious, couldn't move have of his body and was screaming like he was in intense pain. He has had no less than 12 seizures in 24 hours of varying type and intensity. Waiting for Doctors now. How was your night?

Check out her further posts on her blog for Bug! She is an amazing and strong woman and tries to keep her sense of humor through it all. Love and support help us all through rough trials... Don't you think??

2)   How many of you know The Redhead Riter??? Almost EVERYBODY in the Blogdom... Right?? Well her dad and their family could use some powerful praying!! They have just discovered that he has lung cancer. That's a very scary diagnosis to learn!! It's a scary time for them. Please add her and her dad to your prayers, too! She is always so supportive and kind to everyone! This is one way we can give back!  ((HUGS))
"My hands are shaking while I type this post and my heart feels so unbearably heavy.
I know that God did not promise us this sojourn would be easy. I know that Jesus Christ had a life filled with great hardships. I do not feel more special than Him, so why do I have the notion that I shouldn't suffer so much pain??

In the Bible, Isaiah 40:29 reads:
"He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength."
I have little, to no might.
There is no light at the end of the tunnel today.
All the motivational thoughts and cute quips don't touch my ache.
It is just too much.
My. Dad. has. lung. cancer.
Life is not a party.
Now I remember that quote by Helen Keller that I often find comfort reading.
"Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experiences of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired and success achieved."
Humble, sad and scared,
The Redhead Riter"
*Go give her some love and support... and most importantly, PRAYERS!!

3)  My friend Kathy has a son that does rodeo... you know, BULL RIDING. YIKES!!  Apparently, the bull came out ahead this last time and he's needing prayers, too!! Here are her posts that tell his story.
  1. Not such a good night for bullriders~~~Andy was the 2nd bullrider out in the Morgan rodeo and got his chest stomped on....He is in the hospital with several broken ribs, and a punctured lung! We are very, very thankful that he will be OK, and thank God for a wonderful gaurdian angel!!!!

He is in surgery right now
  2. He has a punctured lung and some broken ribs....He's very lucky! That bull came down on him really hard! They are watching , to decide if they will need to insert a tube to re-inflate his lung. He's huting pretty bad tonight....

  3. Today has been kind of a tough day for Andy, but the surgery went really well, and made him feel alot better! Still no "going home" date in sight :o( Thanks so much for your love, thoughts and prayers!!!
  4. They put a tube in his lungs to expand ad get the gunk out, hes still hurting, but doing much better ;-)
  5. Just looked at Andy's x-rays....HOLY COW! His left lung was only working at about 1/3 capacity...They have removed several pints of fluid already!
  6. Today started out pretty bad, then they told Andy it could be a week or more before he can go home....now tonight they are saying that they will come disconnect the lung tube tomorrow AM, and he may be on his way home soon, if all goes well! :o) I like that option best!!!! Praying for a really good night and an even better day tomorrow!!!
  7. Well....Andy's not going home for a few more days...There is still a leak in his left lung :o( The good news is, he's feeling better and getting stronger every day! Thanks again for all of your love and support....It's VERY appreciated!
  8. Thanks to everyone for your love and support while Andy has ben in the hospital! He wants you to know how much he has appreciated your love, support and prayers! It has been pretty rough on him, he has been so sweet and kept such a positive attitude...I don't know if I could do the same, under the circumstances...Thanks for your prayers! I know that they are working!!!!!
  9. Kind of a discouraging day for Andy~~~They took the suction off for a while, and there is still an air leak in his lung...Please continue to keep him in your prayers! He could really use your love and encouragement right now!
  10. Things changed alot for Andy today....This morning was pretty depressing....then tonight, they took the drain/suction tube out!!! This is the first REAL step to gtting to come home!!!! Thanks so much for all your love and prayers!!! I love posting "good" stuff :o)
  11. Sometimes it's hard to remember that God loves us, and hears and answers our prayers~~~I just want you to know that I have NO DOUBT!!! Tonight I am very, very thankful!!!! I am thankful for good friends, amazing family, and a very special gaurdian angel who I know loves her little brother very much!
4) Our friends Sid and Paul are both battling cancer at this time and stay on our list.
6) Our grandson, Vincent remains ALWAYS on our list. He is doing quite well lately and is going the distance!! They gave him 6-16 months... He is now 27 months! HAH!! We will cherish the time we have with him. Wednesday I will be featuring his disorder, Neonatal Adrenoleukodystrophy. He is a sweetheart and his parents are a great example to all of us!

I sincerely hope you have a BEAUTIFUL Sunday!!

Feel free to link up your prayer list and grab the linky to share!

Father God, I come to you as a mere mortal. Humbled by your abilities and your love. I ask that you hold each of these children of yours in your arms and bring solace to them. Give them strength as they go through their days of pain and misery. Keep their hearts soft and sweet in the knowledge that you are with them at this time. These are but a few of your chldren who are battling withdifficulties. May they continue to find some joy in their days knowing that YOU are God and in control.

an amazing idea... I don't have a link to share - because I just can't write about it yet... but a classmate of my daughter was killed this week in an accident. The family is dealing with a lot of forgiveness and guilt issues I'm sure, my heart hurts for them and I prayer for their peace and strength.

Thanks for sharing this beautiful ministry!
I will be lifting all those in need of prayers to the Father, remembering that we have a High Priest who lives to intercede for us. May He give all comfort in the midst of their deep suffering and needs, and I pray they will know that our Savior goes before us as we endure our trial.
God is still totally in the miracle-making business.
Sweet Blessings,
