". . . our stories are what make the difference, and if we can tell them honestly we can hope to help each other. In the end, we have nothing to offer each other but our stories." ~ Emma Lou Thayne

Diamante: Serenity to Anxiety - MMOM 38 - Japan

SERENITY
patient, tranquil
calming, quieting, harmonizing
peaceful, content,
worry, panic
stressing, doubting, dreading
irritated, trepidation
ANXIETY
~Holly Jackson
This is a diamante poem I wrote concerning the transition from serenity to anxiety. Unfortunately, this is frequently a quick and easy transition for me.

1.  Do you have a fireplace in your home?
2! Both are gas;
one in the family room and
one in the master bedroom.
2.  Can you drive a stick shift?
I actually LEARNED on a stick shift.
My dad said if I learned on it,
automatic is easy and I could drive either.
3.  How many computers are in your home?
WOW!! Can I plead the 5th here? LOL! We are a very TECHNICAL family and use different computers for different things. If you add old and new plus laptops, we're at 7.

4.  Are your taxes done yet?  NO

Do you do them yourself?
Sometimes... this year? Probably NOT...
5.  What is your favorite meal of the day?
Probably dinner because the most thought USUALLY goes into it. I say USUALLY because lately I've been thinking "Hmmm... there's dog food, cat food, fish food, rabbit food... wouldn't life be easier if we had PEOPLE FOOD?? MY POOR FAMILY!!!

The situation in Japan isn't looking any better as the days go by. More tragedies in the aftermath of the earthquake/tsunami paint a grim picture. Hubby posted many great links to show all the most critical information to date. Such a sad situation. They will be in my prayers for a LONG time. Go check it out!

Holly, first thing I learned in therapy were to restructure my sentences, after a while I realised that these efforts started changing my thinking. I had to learn not to use the following words: BUT, IF, SHOULD
And you know what, nothing bad happened, I was worried less, less anxiety...more peace....
I feel honored that there is a song which makes you think of me! Love and hugs, Paula

That's a lot of computers.

Yes, the situation in Japan is so heartbreaking.

People food would sure make things easier but I have a feeling it would not look very appetising.
Have a great week!

Yeah, the news from Japan is bleak. But there are some beautiful stories, too.

I learned how to drive on a stick shift too. It's nice to know that I can drive pretty much any car.

Hahah, some days I wish we had "people food" too. At least during the work week. :-)
